1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Formula Friends ("we", "our" or "the application") collects, uses and protects information when you use our mobile application.

By using Formula Friends, you accept the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Account Information

To use Formula Friends, you must sign in with your Google account. We collect:

• Google profile information: Name, email, profile picture and unique user ID
• Authentication token: To keep your session active securely

This information is obtained through Google Sign-In and stored in Firebase Authentication.

2.2. User Profile

• Username: The username you choose within the app
• Preferred language: Your language preference (Spanish or English)
• Profile information: Any additional information you provide in your profile

2.3. Predictions and Groups Data

• Race and championship predictions: Your predictions about Formula drivers and constructors results
• Groups: Groups you create or join, including group names, codes and passwords (encrypted)
• Scores and rankings: Your prediction performance and position in group rankings
• Chat messages: Messages sent in race chat (if you use this feature)

2.4. Automatic Technical Information

Through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, we automatically collect:

• Crash and error data: Information about crashes and errors occurring in the application
• Device information: Device model, operating system version, system language
• Usage data: Statistics on how the application is used (features used, usage time)
• Analytics events: Actions performed in the app (create group, make prediction, etc.) without personally identifiable data

2.5. Information We DO NOT Collect

Formula Friends DOES NOT collect:

• Payment or financial information (the app is completely free)
• Contacts or information from other applications
• Geographic location
• Browsing history outside the app
• Access to camera, microphone or device files

3. How We Use the Information

We use the collected information for:

• Authentication and account management: Verify your identity and manage your session
• App functionality: Store and display your predictions, groups, scores and rankings
• Competition among friends: Enable creation of private groups and compare predictions
• Race chat: Facilitate communication between users during races
• Improve stability: Identify and fix technical errors
• Analyze usage: Understand which features are most used to improve the experience
• Notifications: Send notifications about important events (race start, group updates, etc.)
• Advertising: Show App Open Ads via Google AdMob to support the free app

4. Advertising

Formula Friends shows ads through Google AdMob:

• App Open Ads: Shown when the app is opened or resumed after being in the background

AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Sharing

5.1. Firebase / Google (Service Provider)

Formula Friends uses the following Firebase services (Google LLC):

• Firebase Authentication: To manage Google sign-in
• Cloud Firestore: Cloud database to store users, groups, predictions and chat
• Firebase Realtime Database: For real-time chat during races
• Firebase Crashlytics: For error and crash monitoring
• Firebase Analytics: For anonymous usage statistics
• Firebase App Check: For protection against unauthorized access

These services process data according to Google's Privacy Policy and are subject to strict security measures.

5.2. Google Sign-In

Sign-in is performed through Google Sign-In, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We only receive the basic profile information you authorize.

5.3. No Other Third Parties

Formula Friends DOES NOT share, sell, rent or transfer your personal data to:

• Advertising companies (beyond AdMob for ad delivery)
• Social networks (except when you choose to share explicitly)
• Data aggregators
• Any other third party for commercial purposes

5.4. Privacy in Groups

Formula Friends is based on private groups:

• Groups are private and require a code and password to join
• Only group members can see other members' predictions
• Group owners can manage members, edit group name and password
• If you leave a group, your previous predictions may remain visible to other members

6. Data Security

6.1. Technical Security Measures

We implement multiple layers of security:

• Encryption in transit: All communications use HTTPS/TLS
• Encryption at rest: Data in Firebase is encrypted
• Secure authentication: OAuth 2.0 with Google Sign-In
• Encrypted passwords: Group passwords are stored encrypted with SHA-256
• Firebase Security Rules: Access rules that restrict who can read/write data
• App Check: App integrity verification to prevent unauthorized access

6.2. Limited Access

• Only you and members of your groups can see your predictions within those groups
• Chat messages are only visible to authenticated users
• Group owners have control over member management

7. Data Retention

• Account and prediction data: Retained while you keep your account active
• Group data: Retained while the group exists (owner can delete the group)
• Chat messages: Retained indefinitely in Firebase Realtime Database
• Technical data (crashes, analytics): Firebase retains them for a maximum of 90 days

7.1. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from profile settings. This will:

• Delete your user account and profile
• Delete your personal predictions
• Remove you from all groups
• Keep historical chat messages (without personal identification)

8. Children's Privacy

Formula Friends is intended for users over 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent and discover that your child under 13 has created an account without your consent, contact us to delete it immediately.

9. Your Rights

As a Formula Friends user, you have the right to:

• Access: View all your stored personal information
• Rectification: Edit your username, language and other profile information
• Deletion: Delete your account and associated data at any time
• Portability: Export your data (contact support)
• Revocation of access: Revoke Google Sign-In permissions from your Google account
• Opposition: Object to the processing of your data (which may limit app usage)

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes through:

• An in-app notification
• Updating the "Last updated" date in this document
• Email to your registered account (if it's an important change)

Your continued use of the app after the changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.

11. Legal Compliance

Formula Friends complies with:

• General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union
• Google Play Store Privacy Policies
• Spanish data protection legislation (LOPDGDD)
• Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of the U.S.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order or to protect our legal rights or user safety.
